History of Establishment

The Islamic Association of Students was established in Esfand 1391 (February–March 2013) with the aim of promoting and expanding political activities within the university. Over the years, this Islamic organization has played a significant role in enhancing political discourse and engagement at the university through organizing various conferences, lectures, and academic forums.

About the Organization

The formation of the Union of Islamic Student Associations across universities and higher education centers in Iran began following a pivotal meeting between members of the Islamic Associations and Imam Khomeini (PBUH). During that session, the late Leader of the Revolution addressed the members, saying: “Go and strengthen unity among yourselves.” This key statement led to the naming of the first revolutionary Iranian student union as the “Daftar-e Tahkim-e Vahdat” (Office for Strengthening Unity).

Following the establishment of the Office for Strengthening Unity and the convening of the General Council meetings, the organization’s charter was ratified by the Union’s General Council as its primary governing body. Notably, this foundational manifesto was endorsed by Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, as well as the then-representative of Imam Khomeini in the Office for Strengthening Unity, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the current Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
